Book Summary:
At six foot three Tree is the tallest twelve-year old in Ripley,and he's still growing. He wonders when he is going to stop. Wonders when people are going to stop expecting him to be really good at basketball and to act older. Wonders if he'll ever get used to living in another house every other week. This is what has been on his mind ever since his parents got divorced. Luckily, he has his grandpa to help him get over this. He is a Vietnam vet, and after many years in pain from getting his leg all shot up with shrapnel he finally got it amputated. So both Tree and Grandpa are going through painful times. In this story Tree slowly begins to realize that this is who he is, all six feet of him and he can't change it, all he can do is make the best of it and wear it proudly. Book Rating and Why?
I loved this book. It was very realistic and showed how the situation can be for kids who have divorced parents. I hope I will never have to go through what he needed to go through. Because of that I give it a I give it a five out of five for my book review.
